I don't even actively follow the FGC, nor do I even play fighting games, and even I know who Ludovic is. That's how great of a positive impact he's had on the community as a whole. It's infuriating to see him get caught up in these racist arrests and persecution.

the combination of regularly hearing bad takes like "edmund mcmillen is the john waters of videogames", people just defending the inclusion of genocide supporters in games, and all the corpo gen AI usage has essentially killed my desire to play games anymore.
because it's going around: "edmund mcmillen is the john waters of videogames" even to me as someone who doesn't have that much of a problem with his aesthetic ideas/approaches, is a nuclear level bad take. especially when we have so many actual queer artists in games making transgressive stuff.
