Governor Hochul has announced that $25 million will be made available for land acquisition through a new Open Space Conservation Grant Program. Funding for this program is made possible by the Environmental Bond Act, which voters overwhelmingly passed in 2023.

🍂As the temperatures drop and daylight shortens, local trees are putting on their spectacular autumn show. The Hudson Valley's diverse forests create one of the most stunning fall displays in the Northeast! #hhltny #lovethehighlands

While leaf peepers are readying for the brilliant color pop from northeast trees, another fall show is happening closer to the ground! The fields and forest edges are glowing with goldenrods and asters, classic harbingers of the season.

LIGHTS OUT for our feathered friends!🦅 Fall migration is underway, with millions of birds traveling south. The Hudson Valley is on a major migration route, and last night, over 363,000 birds crossed Putnam County! These travelers face challenges from light pollution, which can disorient them.

🍃This weekend marked #InternationalDayofCleanAir for blue skies! This year's theme, "Racing for Air," focuses on the connection between healthy environments and clean air.
