I ❤️ libraries. Living in beautiful Nova Scotia.
The Halifax waterfront was HOPPING today - so great to see. It was One Port City Day and lots of activities going on. Love the vibrant waterfront.

So we drove downtown this morning to deliver something. Traffic was slow - it’s busy downtown today (which is great). But on our route bike lanes weren’t impeding the flow of traffic, it was all the construction. Should we put a moratorium on that too?

Trevor Corkum has noticed a disturbing trend among Canadian premiers: the desire to quash dissent and centralize executive control over decision-making. But their constituents are pushing back. thewalrus.ca/another-premier-...

Nova Scotia Public Health has confirmed a case of measles in Halifax. Measles is highly contagious & transmitted through the air when people breathe, talk, sing, etc. In addition to vaccination, a well-fitted mask & improved ventilation help with infection control.

Has the CPC fired Jenni Byrne yet?

While I’m relieved that we don’t have a Conservative government, I’m still uneasy about the outcome. The CPC has gained seats, and the NDP has been virtually wiped out. It’s going to be interesting.

The turnout in small towns across the country has been incredible drawing crowds of thousands. We’re already seeing over one million in attendance nationwide, and events are still underway. Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Ohio all had especially surprising showings.

Adolf Hitler's “Mein Kampf” is still on U.S. Naval Academy shelves. “I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings” and “Memorializing the Holocaust” are not.

An order by Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth’s office led to a purge of books that are critical of racism — but preserved volumes defending white power.

Here are views Judy Trinh of CTV News shared of the #Poilievre presser, showing how far away she was placed in a small reporter pen. When she shouted a followup question on the Global News story about Modi-tied donations, he called her a protestor and ignored her. This is Canada.

To put more emphasis on this: Hundreds of thousands of Americans in at least 1400 cities and towns across the country, including in heavily Republican areas that never protest, protested Trump and Musk and their 401Ks being wiped out yesterday, and it’s NOT a main front page story in the Times.
And the only mention of it on the actual print front page is just an image with a caption telling people they need to turn to page 18 to read about it. Not worthy of a front page story, apparently.
