Did you know that in the late '70s, >50% of the NIMH budget supported community mental health centers? That rapidly changed in the '80s w/ Regan (with unfortnate consequences).

It's not directly analogous to now, but the parallels are worth knowing.

When Amazon launched in 1995, there were 5,500 indie bookshops in the U.S., with 7,000 locations. By May of 2023, that number had decreased to 2,185 indies & 2,599 locations.

When you purchase audiobooks via Libro.fm vs. Audible, you directly support indie bookshops. Let's make that number grow ❤️

I recently made a portfolio. Got the idea to create a tool that takes a Github handle as input and outputs a good-looking, read-to-publish portfolio for github projects/repos/contributions. Working on it now. My goal is to push something by tonight. Wdyt?

LOL the DOGE website data being presented as some sort of heroic level of transparency is just a bunch of fancy graphs based on publicly available OPM data from March 2024. And a page full of "trust me bro" tweets.

Really curious to see what the "receipts" will look like.

If you aren't already boycotting Shopify, you should consider it!
It turns out Shopify didn’t object to Kanye West selling a swastika t-shirt, they were just concerned it was a stunt and not an actual commercial sale, so he might not actually ship the shirt to customers.

I can build and launch all day and I can post to social media. But should I be doing more for SEO? I see a lot of posts about how people are getting great results with SEO and it sounds compelling, but it's not my expertise. Any tips?
