I love how enigmatic and textured these oak tree branches are.

The oaks are very large and old, growing by a quiet lane.

I really need to get to bed, but I just poked my head out the back door again. This is the view from my deck. All of this is looking south. When the geomagnetic storms are like this, the oval overshoots me and stretches into the US, which is why so many are seeing it tonight. #aurora

I was worried over her losing a bit of weight yesterday, bc I'm trying to get her off milk. Again.

The hefty gain means I can cut to one bottle, then none, and see how she does.

Shelley was 946g (+23), and is 950 today (+4)

Ada was 930g (+50) which I thought was a scale error, but she's gained another 10g today! Whoah!

View further down the lane. The carpet of fallen leaves is thicker, the bright yellow beech tree has barer branches - the black lines of which show clearly through the thinning mass of yellow leaves. Green ivy grows either side of the track, both on the ground and up the tree trunks. The lane forms a tunnel that disappears behind the curving rows of beech trees.

We hiked along the river road, admiring what was left of the autumn foliage down there (wind has ripped most of the leaves down)

Shelley loves to climb up my shoulders / skitter about there. Which is fine, easier than yoinking her out of trouble.

Except today she fell off, and grabbed MY FACE. With her CLAWS.

I have tiny red bleeding spots on my nose and cheek 😒
