Today, we pause to remember the tragic events of 21 October 1966, when the village of Aberfan was devastated by the collapse of a coal spoil tip, claiming the lives of 144 people including 116 children.

We hold them, those left behind to mourn them, and the community of Aberfan in our prayers.

Here is the progress on my latest commission. This cross is for the church in Llantrisant in oak salvaged from the church's bell tower which is undergoing refurbishment.

Finally free! Alaa Abdel Fattah has been released after nearly a decade of unlawful imprisonment in Egypt.

There are many like him still imprisoned in Egypt for simply exercising their right to freedom of speech. Egypt’s government should release all those wrongfully detained.
