People need to realize this just isn't a likely large group of people. Illegal immigrants can't vote.

Romantic partners of undocumented immigrants who are getting deported also hasn't been tested for partisanship.

The time to stop AH was before Hindenburg appointed him chancellor. I get so tired of people comparing Trump to AH with the whole "what would you have said" comments.

Now that I've been shadow banned I guess I can have fun pouring my soul out and all with even more honestly or something.

There are actual reddit threads where they talk about why Tarantino wants to talk about ancient forgotten actors like Steve McQueen. And usually the answer is "yeah man idk. it makes sense in Quentin's mind that he wants us to know about this."

Snoop Dogg always sucked. Be honest. He didn't start sucking when he went maga, if anything he's finally developing a bit of a personality.

Whereas Toby Keith. Morrissey, Ted Nugent and Ice Cube.
They're all kind of nazis. But so talented in their respective fields.

Graph from D Shor.

The public is sending a message on immigration. And sometimes even a bad message should be listened to.
January 27, 2025 at 6:03 PM
Amnesty could be a good idea. If it's truly a one off with lots and lots of enforcement resources so that it doesn't just incentivize more illegal immigration.

Conservatives are skeptical of the whole tradeoff. Considering that was the false promise in 1986 you can kind of understand why.

YIMBY policies can change the character of CA but they can't really make it affordable. That's not the end of the world!

With a few important exceptions California has low homicide rates. Think of Santa Clarita, San Diego, Freemont.

It has low crime bc street gangs are priced out. Many like that
January 26, 2025 at 6:56 PM
For the last time:

Americans aren't voting with their feet against california. Trumpers are being priced out because they can't (or are unwilling) to pay the price for the coolness to live in California.

At what point can the silly YIMBY myths be put to rest.

Key thing people need to understand about racial resentment is that plenty of academics don't buy the idea that RR=racism. and don't like the name for that reason. For that reason it's often called racial conservatism instead.

If you believe it was irrational for anti zionists to switch their vote from Harris to Trump maybe you can consider that actually the whole goal of trying to annihilate Israel is also irrational.

I should be shocked if any substantial resettlement of gazans in Egypt and Jordan occurred.

But for those who howl with indignation, what is your preferred plan? To just have an endless series of hamas terror attacks and Israel reprisals in gaza?
NEW: Trump tells reporters he wants to "just clean out" Gaza and relocate Palestinians to Egypt and Jordan

Is this man a conservative or a progressive?
January 26, 2025 at 12:27 AM
The truth is only the comment about controlling mass media and fraudulent elections are really related to authoritarian governments.

The rest are simply conservatives being conservative.

Of all the left-wing ideas that will never happen, gun control is probably the best pie in the sky fantasy.

Yes we should be preventing idiots from owning a killing machine in an ideal world.

But the discomfort is in admitting that many Americans are idiots and not all of them are Republicans.

We don't need bullet trains in texas thanks.
do any americans go overseas, ride a bullet train, and think: nah, we don't need this?

Bernie Sanders talked about taxing the rich.

Bernie Madoff actually taxed the rich without waiting for permission.

Fetterman Democrats are boring. And we're not ashamed.

We're here. We're taking over the party. Get used to it.

Imagine a politician who's conservative on security issues, but liberal on economic issues.

The fact that Latinos have shifted right does make Puerto Rican statehood more likely. But still not very likely. Too bad, seems like we're getting there though.

How can Democrats defeat fascism?

By listening to the voters.

No that does not mean preaching to them.

Really. Listen to them.

Contrary to what the online narrative might lead you to believe, decriminalizing sex work is a lot more popular with men than with women. 🤷‍♀️
January 22, 2025 at 12:37 AM
It's hard to actually comprehend what would happen if the USA became fascist. See our country is kind of different from other countries, we're actually a superpower.

The analogy that comes to mind would be Augustus becoming emperor. It might just upend everything as we know it gradually.
January 22, 2025 at 12:25 AM
If only the never trump conservatives could just move beyond that "limited government" stuff. It's libertarian cosplay. Other than that a good list.

"Radical politics"

Radical - as in promoting ideas that are inherently unpopular

and

politics - as in trying to win a popularity contest.
