People need to realize this just isn't a likely large group of people. Illegal immigrants can't vote.

Romantic partners of undocumented immigrants who are getting deported also hasn't been tested for partisanship.

Millions spoke out against the nazis. However they did not unite against the nazis.

Ofc once the nazis controlled the military well yeah, then it was actually too late.

There are actual reddit threads where they talk about why Tarantino wants to talk about ancient forgotten actors like Steve McQueen. And usually the answer is "yeah man idk. it makes sense in Quentin's mind that he wants us to know about this."

Graph from D Shor.

The public is sending a message on immigration. And sometimes even a bad message should be listened to.

For the last time:

Americans aren't voting with their feet against california. Trumpers are being priced out because they can't (or are unwilling) to pay the price for the coolness to live in California.

At what point can the silly YIMBY myths be put to rest.

Key thing people need to understand about racial resentment is that plenty of academics don't buy the idea that RR=racism. and don't like the name for that reason. For that reason it's often called racial conservatism instead.

Is this man a conservative or a progressive?
January 26, 2025 at 12:27 AM
The truth is only the comment about controlling mass media and fraudulent elections are really related to authoritarian governments.

The rest are simply conservatives being conservative.

Bernie Sanders talked about taxing the rich.

Bernie Madoff actually taxed the rich without waiting for permission.

Fetterman Democrats are boring. And we're not ashamed.

We're here. We're taking over the party. Get used to it.

Imagine a politician who's conservative on security issues, but liberal on economic issues.

The fact that Latinos have shifted right does make Puerto Rican statehood more likely. But still not very likely. Too bad, seems like we're getting there though.

How can Democrats defeat fascism?

By listening to the voters.

No that does not mean preaching to them.

Really. Listen to them.

Contrary to what the online narrative might lead you to believe, decriminalizing sex work is a lot more popular with men than with women. 🤷‍♀️

Elon could have been pledging his allegiance to Hezbollah perhaps.
January 21, 2025 at 11:44 PM
If only the never trump conservatives could just move beyond that "limited government" stuff. It's libertarian cosplay. Other than that a good list.

The plot to crime and punishment is about someone with these tendencies killing a 60 year old woman. That's always what I think of when I see the anti boomer stuff.

Elon does seem to have some offensive views on like, a million topics. Trying to scare people into thinking he's helping the Donald rebuild Auschwitz isn't going to work though.

Been there done that. That was 2017-2024. Democrats should live in the center and listen to voters.

A funny thing about this post is that every time it comes up Republicans get defensive as if they're being called stupid.

Reality is just that Republicans have a different approach to life. They're very practical.

John McCain's 2008 view that we should have bombed Iran looks really good in retrospect.

I was curious how they were going to do proceed with this argument.

Starts with "Bowie's early career rips off T-Rex" yeah ok I can see where this is going.
January 19, 2025 at 3:04 AM
Politics involves a lot of asymmetries. A common progressive tactic is to argue Democrats should emulate Republicans but it doesn't work.
January 18, 2025 at 11:06 PM
The main problem I have with generational cohort discourse on politics is people lean far to hard on how pop culture drives voting.

Like no the fact that I had a Hootie and the Blowfish album at 14 does not define how I'm going to vote for the next 60 years afterwards.

Also had some interesting quotes on religion. This kind of reminds me of a certain type of "evangelical but I don't know much about my religion" Trump supporter.

Wikipedia has some banger quotes about her fears of living in a world where a real man wouldn't be there, no one would ask her to make a sandwich.
