I read the Pretty Poison Trilogy over the weekend. Book one was great. A cute cozy romance. Books two and three were…. A lot. This could have just been one long book and it would’ve been better. By the end I was like “okay. That’s enough twists now”

Just finished Phantom by H.D. Carlton
Not sure how I felt about it. The spice was 14/10, as expected. But I think I struggled with the story because I knew going in where the end was headed because of Haunting Adeline.
But the bonus chapter did bring it all around for me. So yay!

Look. If I have to live at a time when politics are mirroring “the obvious baddies from distopian fantasy novels”, can I at least get some dragons or the ability to do magic or like a ripped hot Bat-Boy or something? This dystopia sucks.
