Mom of the most wonderful 4 adult kids, still madly in love with my hubby (met when we were 12!) love to travel, hike, dance, hang w/friends, work out w/hub, 🔥)’( & anything to do with nature, especially the beach/water.
Nervous and excited. All 4 of my adult kiddos will fly from CA to the Tampa airport here in FL for Christmas week. One of my trans kids didn’t get his gender marker changed before Trump. His IDs have a handsome picture of him with his mustache and the gender marker female. How worried should I be?

My brother, after over 9 months, is no longer our responsibility. It was hard work, took a lot of patience, a lot of time, was sometimes disgusting and stinky, pushed my boundaries and exhausted me. I’m immensely relieved it is over! He’s in an assisted living home where they can take care of him.

After many months of unexpected caregiving for my brother, I just found out today that we will help him move into an assisted living facility in 10 days!!!

Sometimes being nice, sometimes caring more about somebody you love and their feelings, can be unhelpful to your own mental health. That is all. At least now I know when to peace out and log off and stop. That is a big step.

It’s hard to stay hopeful and determined with the cruelty of this presidency.

We had the best time with a friend! Met Kim for a leisurely 3 hour hike in a town called Plant City, then had a late lunch at a delish vegetarian restaurant, then sipped wine outside in the darling downtown Lakeland. GREAT Saturday!

Driving half way to meet a dear friend, Kim, who lives in Florida. Asking the way by the highway, we saw a 3 story high gigantic confederate flag. 😱🤬💔 Floridians, do better!!

Last night as my mom and I were hugging good bye around 9:15pm, she said she loved me and thanked me for being so helpful. Then she said, “who would’ve thought that you would’ve ended up being such a great daughter?” 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

What a wonderful Saturday so far- and soon we’ll head to the Be Fabulous Music and Art Pride Festival in Sarasota! 8am Yoga with hubby and a new friend, then a great breakfast together, then Jamie drove to a florist and picked this up! I love my kids SO much!! 🥰🥰🥰🥰

Drained. Tired. But determined. We can’t give up. Plus one of my 3 sons just excitedly signed a lease. His first apartment with a partner! Young love is so invigorating! Wishing him and his boyfriend fabulous memories in their new place come late May. 🥰

We left to protest in St Pete’s but the bridge was closed😳, so I found a protest locally in Bradenton, just a 3 minute drive from us. Didn’t expect much, guessed maybe 50 people would attend in this red city. It was 800! 😃 Much more than a pleasant surprise- it was an encouraging hopeful euphoria!🥰

Microdosing news is keeping my mental health in check this term. And being outside. And the awesome weekends. And talking to my kids and friends. And meeting & volunteering for peeps in the LGBTQ community. 🏳️‍🌈 🏳️‍⚧️

This weekend was jammed packed, mostly wonderful, a little painful (broke my toe, sprained a couple fingers, got a black eye). But here, I’ll share some of the very best parts!

One of my goals, w/my mom’s Parkinsons, is to keep her active. I firmly push her to walk around her old farts’ campus with me 5 times a week. We’ve held hands while walking the 1.1 miles, but for the first time in our lives we saw wood ducks.😍Their coloring appeared to be AI! Absolutely gorgeous.

Volunteered the past 2 days for 11-15 year olds for a local LGBTQ youth group. It’s spring break here, so they hosted a camp 9am-5pm. I was there 8:30-1:30 (then went to help my mom & brother). Spending time with people under 80, and with humans that don’t have cognitive dissonance, was AWESOME!! 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

The 1.1 mile walk with my mom around her old folks’ campus is usually peaceful, with ducks, geese, ibis, turtles, herons & squirrels.
