There are extremists among all sects in Syria, but most, despite demands, tell me that they are Syrians first and do not want separation from the rest of Syria in the northeast, the coastal areas/Homs and Swayda/Jaramana/A. Sahnaya. And much more:

The Bibas boys, like many innocent Palestinian children as well, paid for sins they did not commit or have any control over. Anyone with a conscious should be holding space in their heart for these angels, just as they should for the thousands of innocent Palestinian babies brutally murdered.

It's not too soon to criticize Jolani (Ahmad Sharaa) or how the transition is being handled. We need to remain disciplined, but we also need a free and safe space for protest and criticism. A (healthy) opposition keeps democracy in check.
