Did a fun test scene with Aster and MB. Playing around with a scribbly and loose style 👻 A little early for #indieanimationday but I've been playing with this shot for awhile and wanted to share!

Inspired my Lucas' lettering stacks, here's the letting for The Lonesome Hunters #1. I put the SFX in the art, so mine look a little less flashy. Still, it's interesting how my letting seems to clump up in 3 tiers. Most (but not all) of the yellow captions represent the upper left corner of a panel.

I've often thought that the color on a lot of the Disney and Pixar movies I grew up watching seemed off on newer releases, and it turns out I was right! Animation Obsessive has a great new piece about it, using Toy Story as a major example.

In the 1890s, Gifford Pinchot — often hailed as America's first serious forest conservationist — went on a quest to make forests that could be tightly controlled. In doing so, Marin Scotten writes, he helped birth both the American suburb and a new age of wildfires.

Also in case its not being mentioned in your feed, there is still a remaining vote for this and Somehow they didn't anticipate the outrage, so there's apparently some hesitation now.

If those were your senators, call them and don't stop. I will also be calling even though they arent mine
Call the United States Capitol switchboard at (202) 224-3121 and they will connect you with your senator's office.

No matter how they voted last night, every one of them has a say in maintaining Chuck Schumer and Dick Durbin as their caucus leaders. Every one of them is accountable here.

YEAH, THAT'S RIGHT! I HAVE WRITTEN A NEW ARTICLE!

this one's a bit weird; rather than doing my usual "trying to organize my thoughts and building a winding case that builds on itself," I decided to show you what my EARLY article creation process looks like:

docseuss.medium.com/some-loosely...
some loosely organized thoughts about dialogue sysin games
think of this as me trying to find out what parts of dialogue choices are load bearing game design and what else can be done with dialogue.

This is the message. Make it clear that these billionaires aren't just worried about losing money. They're worried about losing the ability to exchange their money for power.

I remember when these stick animations started to make the rounds in the late 90s. Animation Obsessive, as usual, exposes the story few of us knew about Xiao Xiao, the inspirations, and complexities of a style that becomes a commodity.
Check it out!
It wasn't deep. It didn't have much to say. But Xiao Xiao inspired millions to try Flash animation for themselves.

A Beijing artist made this series -- and turned stick fights into a phenomenon. We're exploring why and how he did it:
