Very happy to see this The Polyphony! Thanks

I bring together Ralcua Soreanu’s work on Sándor Ferenczi’s theory of sexuality with Florêncio’s recent writing (with Liz Rosenfeld) about experiences of cruising, and Just’s use of horror writing to explore her experiences of endometriosis.
Harriet Mossop examines pleasure and pain as entryways into queer auto-theory in this reflection on 'Locating the “I”: autoethnography as queer methodology', a workshop led by João Florêncio and Edyta Just at the Queer Medical Humanities PhD School.

With 38 hrs to go to the EHRC consultation deadline I'm seeing posts from people feeling bad they're too stressed to engage.
The GLP⬇️has removed all but the last step, a general comment box. This is a far easier task. I hope it helps those who want to, to get their voice heard without too much pain.

1. Major news in transgender care.

Germany, Switzerland, and Austria have just released their trans youth care guidelines.

They strongly recommend trans youth care and slam the
Cass Review in England.

Europe is not "pulling back" on trans care.

The recommendations, released by the Association of the Scientific Medical Societies in Germany, come at a time when US politicians erroneously claim that Europe is "pulling back" on transgender care.

Finally.

A major media outlet has finally reported on Trump’s total travel ban for transgender visa applicants seeking the United States.

I had to scream for two days to get someone else to report on it.

It is NOT just for athletes.

Important lessons here for any psych professional who takes on a gatekeeping role for gender transition. Gatekeeping doesn’t protect anyone!
Gatekeeping does NOT benefit detrans people.

Our paper on gatekeeping and detransition is now out! I’m immensely hyped for this paper, written in collaboration with wondrous scholars and including co-authors who have lived experience with detransition.

I appreciate all the people recommending the Shock Doctrine. I've been thinking about what makes Trump's use of these tactics a little different.

In recent decades, shock tactics were used mainly to rapidly impose neoliberal economic policies. But what Trump is doing goes way beyond that.

Chaos and confusion. Somebody read @naomiaklein.bsky.social The Shock Doctrine as a manual, it seems. Time for people to read it again for countermeasures also.
