Rappel des gestes simples pour se protéger des vagues de chaleur :
➡️s'hydrater régulièrement
➡️rester à l'ombre
➡️Démanteler l'industrie des énergies fossiles qui entasse les profits en organisant le chaos climatique.
Simple, basique.
Force et courage à toutes et tous.

I can confirm it takes almost exactly 8.5 minutes to get from the Sun to the Earth with the "scroll at the speed of light" toggle. How did I verify this, you ask?

"open source alternative to X" feels like virtue signaling if you don't let users self-host imo

Muted a lot of politics stuff on this site and already I feel like my usage is more healthy, qualitatively, but also quantifiably in terms of how much time I spend here

apparently you can disable swipe left/right to go back/forward in browser history with `overscroll-behavior-x: none` in Firefox.

that doesn't feel like it should be possible

rebuilding my blog (again) with @astro.build and I continue to be amazed at how easy it is to get a site up and running; i've barely done anything and I have a passable blog already.

you can tell astro was designed with love and care and with UX in mind. it's a genuinely delightful framework.

I don't capital H hate LLMs intrinsically, but this is one thing that does irk me to no end
Oh and also

4. GenAI represents a fundamentally different model of computing where determinism and predictability and step by step is replaced with ”I’ll throw this on the big matrix compost pile and see what comes out”, and lots of people who like computer HATE this (myself included).

I downloaded the EPUB of #dorley so I could use a reader app, and I don't know whether to be excited or horrified at the fact that I'm not even _halfway_ through it. _and it's still not finished_!

I haven't read much in a while now, but Dorley kidnapped my reader's block and cut off its balls.

the difference between how OOP and FP are intro'd to students is essentially:

- OOP reflects real-life systems: data and methods, w/ encapsulation and abstraction

- meanwhile FP is too often promised to be this fundamental truth of computing that will give you galaxy brain programming skills
