I can confirm this is true and I can also say that the lack of an eviction moratorium is fueling this trend.

It was more complicated than that, and Cheney/Rumsfeld deserve a lot of the blame, but I have been to Iraq and am aware that it was a disaster, thanks. Bush is not a racist and did not try to destroy the foundations of our democracy. Let’s not go back and forth about it.

Still not over JD Vance bringing a plane-full of food with him to Italy.

Is there any country on the planet where that makes less sense? Some of the world's famously great cuisines get spicy, or have flavors JD might not be familiar with (Thai, Mexican, Japanese, etc.)

But Italy? For an American?

This is probably not a popular opinion on here, but I thought Bush did a good job pre-2002, and a decent job post-2006. But did a ton of damage between those two years. He wasn’t a monster.

The "intellectualism" of Jeffrey Epstein, Elon Musk, and their circles makes me think of dorm BS sessions. Heard similar from an unsober 19 year old at 2am.

Also the Jack White lyric: "Who the hell's impressed by you? I want names of the people that we know that are falling for this."

Good piece.

Unironically true, though not the way he meant it.

People organized around hating an Other, even if it isn’t real. The foreign invasion lie doesn’t work—due to the “Trump is good” lie—so lie about Muslims.

Does anyone seriously believe the US would defend Taiwan?

If China moves to attack, Trump will tell the truth about it, side with the smaller democracy over the larger authoritarian, strenuously object, send more arms, deploy US military assets, and risk/endure casualties?

Who’s confident in that?
