Canadian wearily posting into the void. Resisting the word "skeet". My posts do not represent my employer. Mum, cat owner, ND. She / her.

I do not "follow back" automatically and if I don't know you in some way, you will be blocked.
I jabbed myself in the palm of my right hand with a splinter today, putting a chunk of wood on the fire

By the time someone came home and could help me because i couldn't fish it out left-handed it was all swollen and irritated

I am annoyed all out of proportion to what the wound looks like

There are people out there who think barely a couple weeks with rain completely reverses all the damage from a four month drought and it kills me that they walk among us

FYI: Effective Wednesday, November 12, masks will be required for all staff, patients, and visitors upon entering IWK Health’s acute care facility on University Avenue.

I had a physically demanding day and I just thought to myself "soon time for pajamas"

I had to take the lead with grooming and tacking a spicy pony today and... I did it? And it went OK?

I can't believe barely six months I didn't know anything about horses beyond thinking they were pretty and now I can just... walk into a stall with one who is mad and do what needs to be done.

Every time i make french onion soup i spare a thought for all inexperienced cooks believing recipes that say you can caramelize onions in ten minutes

i have had a crazy-productive couple of days and i feel so much better

now going to make French onion soup for dinner on this grey day and have a quiet evening

volunteering at the stable in the morning, and then (weather permitting) year-end baseball party for Kid3 and his team

Ok why are people replying to posts about happy festive things snarking about them? Just scroll by. Don't yuck someone else's yum.

Hello Halifax, has anyone made a one-time payment to NSP by credit card before? Can you do it over the phone? The thought of entering my cc details into their "3rd party vendor" gives me hives.

GUYS the plumber texted "sounds like the supply line is clogged" and then STOPPED RESPONDING so I spent a few minutes on YouTube and fixed the fucking thing myself

TODAY HAS BEEN A GREAT DAY
I messaged a plumber about a non-urgent annoyance I've been gritting my teeth about for literal months please clap

I took today off and man what a good decision. Nothing like feeling you're playing hooky.

Anyhoo I woke up at 4 and idly put on the AppleTV doc "Twas the Fight Before Christmas" and it was not peaceful "drift off back to sleep" fare.

I've never seen someone milkshake duck themselves 10min in.

So the peculiar little restaurant in Clayton Park called Lor-B-Q is actually very very tasty and reasonably-priced Indian food - doesn't look like anything special from the outside but my goodness

And I can walk there in ten minutes

This is going to get interesting

when i finally got home last night it was incredibly dark outside. i was cold, i was cranky, i had to yell at a dickhead to stop blocking the door so i could get off the bus, i was just... done.

walking home i passed a house with a huge, resplendent Xmas tree in their window.

thank you, neighbour.

he's been in multiple things i've seen, and made exactly zero impression on me
