It’s nice to see people you went to school with twenty years ago are still hot.

My hot take is that you should write comedies for people who don’t get jokes.

Evening viewing recommendation? Watch LOST IN AMERICA (1985) in our Fresh Starts collection! Writer-director-star Albert Brooks’s barbed wit and confident direction drive this iconic example of his restless comedies about insecure characters searching for satisfaction in the modern world

Cop shows are essentially copaganda but confoundingly choose to portray police as incompetent, negligent, malicious or a combination thereof. Is this because we are ok with the idea of someone who breaks the law to “protect us” from the bad guys?

I once spoke to a producer who wanted to “hire me” to write a script, which was supposed to be like “Rocky” but about online poker and for the life of me I don’t know how that would have worked!

I watched a second season of "The X-Files" tonight and I'm telling you, we need to get back to episodic television. Tv shows don't have to be "cinematic," they need to be TV!

One of my core cinema memories is renting "Aliens" with a friend when we were both way too young. He spent the first 30 min complaining it was "boring," asking "when are the aliens gonna show up?" and then howled to turn it off when they tore through the marines.
