I’m realizing this was the universal human experience until like two hundred years ago

I am kind of sitting here mouth agape as I realize that the thing that really got eight Democrats to cave was a provision which provides backdoor criminal and civil immunity to them personally by making it functionally impossible to ever investigate the Senate

I saw a project I made in 1st grade where it explained how Christopher Columbus came over with the Pilgrims and then Thanksgiving happened. 90s public school was interesting.
I didn't hear the Pilgrim story until I was older (I went to a Black elementary school) and when I asked my grandmother told me that was white people's bullshit. I have never looked back
i have been black for an incredibly long time. my family has never thanked a pilgrim for a damn thing. we are thankful to have a day off work and gather with family. no one is celebrating genocide with a side of candied yams. lower your weapon, le'activist.

SCOTUS has had half a dozen occasions to make gerrymandering specifically illegal, but because the cases were from Wisconsin and challenging Republican control, they kept coming up with ways to pass the buck. If gerrymandering is, absurdly, legal, it is our responsibility to use it.

We are going to be seeing even harsher crackdowns on voting after tonight. The Republican plan is to hold power forever and they aren’t going to like seeing all these state races going hard blue.

A lot of the good parts of Milwaukee came from our stint of socialist mayors, and I look forward to NYC getting century long progressive institutions through Mamdani.
