If you have to schedule a 1 hour training session on how to do performance reviews as ICs, the process is way too complicated.

Client-side Javascript is pretty much always the reason why everything is slow. It gets worse when ad networks get involved. The features of JS are great, but it's always slow.

Ah ha! I've deployed Nextcloud on my network to try to self-host things, but on top of having lots of issues with shared calendars (not NC's fault, cross-service calendar sharing is a PITA), I always found it SLOW. And this explains why

Looks like I may be going to Re:Invent... As much as I'm trying to avoid travel to the US, I've wanted to go to Re:Invent for many years, and I think I'd be crazy to turn it down.

This stuff is so cool. When I worked at BlackBerry we used to be able to watch big events in the relay and BBM traffic. New Years across timezones was really cool, and the Olympics was also something wild!

UPS fucking sucks. I'm fairly confident they lost my new phone and watch, and neither UPS or apple are willing to do anything yet, telling me to "just wait a few more days". It was out for delivery, and now it's vanished with the tracking not updating for 3 days saying "tomorrow".
