I wrote an entire geometry nodes modifier to make a ball of string specifically for this, last night.
Also I really REALLY love orb shaped lower bodies like that. I dunno where that kink came from though.

Kinda wish blender sculpt tools had an option where you can automatically switch between two kinds of tools every frame.
A lot of good 3d effects is simply the same bunch of actions repeated over and over. more control over that would be neato.
