Turns out, I do like the movie more after getting some extra context, but it's still a hard movie for me to sit through because it's 70% exposition by volume.

On a logical level, I understand why graphical improvement mods exist.
But as someone who was stuck gaming on a shitty laptop with a basic Intel graphic ship that couldn't run Hyper Light Drifter at 30 FPS, I cannot relate.

Something I've been thinking about for years now. It first occurred to me when I realized that melodrama isn't meant to exaggerate emotions, but to render them in fiction as we experience them internally.
Howard Brenton says the magic in his plays - Churchill rising from his coffin to speak, that sort of thing - isn't there to make his plays more theatrical but more real. The difference is crucial but takes thinking about.
