So excited to announce I'm part of the Skull x Bones Anthology coming out soon! @joshuapalmatier.bsky.social and @davidbcoe.bsky.social have really put together a great collection of stories and I'm honored to be a part of it. You can preorder on Kickstarter here: tinyurl.com/ZNBSkullXBones
This is the movie that introduced me to Bruce Campbell and for that alone I'll always treasure it. And it was via Bruce Campbell that I discovered the Adventures of Briscoe County, Jr. which is really an insane, trippy, campy gem of a tv series
The original Evil Dead trilogy is one of the best watches for Halloween season, and there's something so deliciously absurd about Army of Darkness's radical departure from cabin in the woods zombie horror to medieval dark fantasy that it might be my favorite of the three.

For BCS, very much this. We're seeing a lot more gen AI and especially part AI/part human 'hybrid' subs this summer, we've gotten better at spotting them, and we're noting who has sent them.
I just want to add: the chances of an editor not noticing, much less thinking the story is good enough to publish, are incredibly slim, while the consequences for submitting AI to publishers who don’t want it are likely severe and lasting. You might as well try writing the story yourself.
Let’s say you “write” a story with AI, and you don’t disclose that to an editor, who somehow doesn’t realize and publishes the story, which no reader ever calls out as AI—what of any worth, exactly, have you accomplished?

Finished @emmypax.bsky.social Death on the Caldera the other night and absolutely loved it. The worldbuilding was so rich and the pacing had me speeding through it. Would definitely enjoy seeing more of the Linde (& extended) family in the future.

ICYMI, my newest short story came out earlier this week with Beneath Ceaseless Skies! "Bloody Muddy Water" is a fantasy detective story where spellbreaker Rugg and his alligator mount, Tugboat, must solve the mystery of the Headsick plague spreading through the swampy canals of Blackvill.

Sometimes you read a description so tailored toward toward your interests you can hardly believe it AND THEN the story ends up not only delivering but being even better than you hope. This is one of those stories. Absolutely loved the characters and worldbuilding immensely.

of submissions during the open call than anticipated, it is taking a while to give each story a careful read. (And WOW, they are all so good!) The first round of rejections went out earlier in August. We hope to get all responses out sometime in September.

Hi authors! Please remember to file a claim!
AI advocates have warned that if every author in the class action filed a claim, it would "financially ruin" the entire industry.
Authors celebrate “historic” settlement coming soon in Anthropic class action

Goblins & Galaxies aims to capture that feeling people must have had when they picked up an issue of Weird Tales almost a hundred years ago. Or maybe when you picked up your first fantasy novel as a kid. Modern adult life got you down? Maybe you need some fantastical tales: https://bit.ly/44Waubl
