I upgraded my MacBook to Tahoe today and looking at this background feels pretty good.

I wouldn’t think a background change would impact my mood this much 😶

I hope rest of the OS is as good.

My daughter (5) made this at home, she loves crafting things.

I told her it looks great and asked if she designed it by herself. She said yes, proudly.

I was expecting her to her say yes, but wasn’t expecting an actual design.

I hate it when the only compensation from delivery apps is the price of the missing item.

I mean of course I won’t be paying for the items I didn’t receive, that is not a compensation.

You should be giving me some extra credit for the inconvenience you caused when I have 1 burger missing.

How do you explain what software engineering is to a 5 year old?

My daughter asked what my occupation is, I said I’m a software engineer and her response was “no I’m asking like doctor or firefighter”.

Maybe she thinks software engineers don’t have a place in society 🙃

Everyone can vibe code, but can you vine code?

I don’t exactly know why but I’m not excited by ChatGPT Atlas at all.

I don’t have anything against it though.

It is probably because in the past few years there has been sooo many new product launches and it is just too hard to keep up with all of them which makes me feel like “yeah whatever”.

Vodafone is having a nationwide outage in the UK and I have my broadband, mobile and work mobile on their network.

As a remote engineer I cannot work because of this outage.

Lesson learned, never have your mobile and broadband on the same network.

This is your reminder not to upgrade to iOS 26 right away.

The first release of almost all new iOS versions are buggy. Wait until at least 26.1.
iOS 26 is out 🙏

I have the same feeling.

I don’t use AI for writing feedback for my colleagues.

Writing genuine feedback is the best way to help others grow and I don’t think this can or should be rushed.

I usually take at least 30 mins per person to write feedback without AI help.
Interesting observation from an eng manager:

“As soon as I know some text is AI-generated: I lose all interest in reading it.

For performance reviews, I asked people to either not use AI or if they must: just write down the prompt so I don’t need to go thru the generated word salad padding.”

Yesterday I watched the Tetris movie, it was way beyond my expectations.

I learned so much about Tetris history.

Tetris was created by a Russian engineer Alexey Pajitnov during Soviet times in 1985.

It was licensed to Nintendo with the hustle of Henk Rogers in 1989 and it became a world wide hit.

This is a great example of not trying to replace people – in this case doctors, with AI but instead helping them do their job better with AI assistance.

Great news and advancement for both doctors and patients!
