Just so well said.

I was thinking the same - like, it's by far not the worst thing he's said or done, but I fully get why it's hitting so hard for some, right now, waking people up.

The GOP never wanted anyone to have healthcare, except the rich who could pay whatever extortionate price the industry charges. Now they blame immigrants, who are not at all the problem, as they cut the ACA subsidies - which cost taxpayers 1/5 as much as the tax cuts for the rich cost. Ugly & evil.
This is not normal, and continued and ever-increasing rhetoric like this should not be treated as normal. #holdfast #steadystate

Small things with a big impact. Let's support the good things that Labour is doing.

Government announces extra funding for safe housing for domestic abuse survivors – UK politics live
As part of the violence against women and girls (VAWG) strategy councils will receive a further £19m Good morning. The news will be dominated by two foreign stories today: the ongoing response to the Hanukah killings at Bondi beach, which we are covering on a live blog here, and the latest talks in Berlin tonight on peace proposals for Ukraine. Keir Starmer is a key partner in this process, and he will be flying to Germany to attend. But first he will have to spend 90 minutes at the Commons liaison committee taking questions, not on foreign policy, but instead mostly on “the Plan for Change: one year on”. These hearings normally don’t reveal as much as a lengthy interrogation of the PM on policy probably should, but there is shortage of complaints about the government’s record over the past year and there are plenty of interesting questions that could be asked. Ministers said the funding would help local authorities offer victims access to a “fresh start” on top of £480m already pledged over the next three years for support including refuges and sanctuary schemes. Shabana Mahmood, the home secretary, is set to unveil sweeping reforms to the criminal justice system this week as part of government plans to halve Vawg, which it has declared a “national emergency”, within a decade. If you live in a red state or district, keep the pressure on!

This could well be the moment when your elected Republican recognizes that the people have more power than the president and the party - so for their own interest, if not yours, they may just change their tune.

Sen. Kelly responds: "If this is meant to intimidate me and other members of Congress from doing our jobs and holding this administration accountable, it won't work. I've given too much to this country to be silenced by bullies who care more about their own power than protecting the Constitution."
Breaking:

Just days after Sen. Mark Kelly participated in a video asking service members to ‘refuse illegal orders,' the Pentagon now says it's opening an investigation into Kelly for "serious allegations of misconduct."

I have never been a conspiracy theorist & am well aware that it's generally just about $$$, but this little event seems to tie so many things together right when Epstein secrets are coming out, and this guy knows a lot. I can't help but wonder if the Mossad thing is real:

Until the end of the government shutdown, our campaign will be donating $2,500 a month to a food pantry in the Ninth District.

And to my fellow candidates, I challenge you to do the same:

Let's not let up on this. The constant distraction is to their benefit, and only covers for their immorality. We need to keep a contingent on message making this point, since it's true and it matters to people.
Today, Mike Johnson will keep the House adjourned for the 94th day out of the last 106.

12 days of work in 106 days.

With full pay and benefits.

The senate has been working, so this is not about the shutdown.

It is about avoiding a vote to release the Epstein files.

BREAKING: Starbucks workers have just authorized a massive strike.

Union Starbucks baristas voted to authorize the strike by 92%.

Now baristas in over 25 cities could launch an unfair labor practice strike on Thursday, November 13th.

Right!
A lot of people make it a false choice, claiming that Zohran is far left and Spanberger is moderate, and all one can learn from Zohran is communication and the election was a referendum on Trump but offers no path forward - not true. It's about seeing the problem and offering an alternative.
Zohran Mamdani ran on freezing the rent in NYC.

Abigail Spanberger ran on supporting fired federal workers and lowering the cost of living in VA.

Mikie Sherrill ran on lowering utility bills in NJ.

Ensuring people can afford to live a decent life is the path forward.

A beacon of hope and a reminder to fight!
Mamdani: "My message to ICE agents & to everyone across this city is that everyone will be held to the same standard of the law. If you violate it, you must be held accountable. There is sadly a sense growing that certain people are allowed to violate that law, whether they be POTUS or ICE agents."
November 6, 2025 at 3:54 PM
We have to keep fighting. The American people are in agreement on this, with the exception of a slice which has, sadly, always been a violent fringe. But they are vastly outnumbered. Keep the faith. ✊

Speaks volumes.
Zohran Mamdani says on NY1 he didn't get a congratulatory call from either Andrew Cuomo or Eric Adams last night.

He says he got a congratulatory call from Curtis Sliwa, though.

Don't forget that we vote with our pocketbook every day. Do what you can to hold the companies accountable, to let them know what is *not* okay with you. ✊
November 5, 2025 at 4:58 PM
Yes. The right people for the right places, integrity, authenticity, and fight!!

We need people with vision. Mamdani is leading the way in that. But Democrats are starting to waken. Let's work together. Be bold, because we are fighting against fascism - no point in hiding that fact, only harm.
Congratulations to all the Democratic candidates who won tonight. It’s a reminder that when we come together around strong, forward-looking leaders who care about the issues that matter, we can win. We’ve still got plenty of work to do, but the future looks a little bit brighter.

Let it inspire you. Put the cynicism aside for just long enough.
You will be happy that you did.

Perfectly said, @thebulwark.com - not just for our foreign friends, but for every American as well.
There is a better way to engage with the United States in 2025 than to flatter Trump and look for compelling deals. It starts by acknowledging that America’s democratic decline and its pugilistic turn on the global stage are real and potentially chronic.
The ‘Transactional’ Trap
America’s partners shouldn’t think they can deal their way out of Trumpian chaos.

If they actually cared about what Jesus was supposed to be about, more pastors would be doing this. Maybe all pastors, unless the church just suffered fire or flood....
Every church should be doing this, and if your church isn’t, you’re at the wrong church.
