Old joskin man who writes a fortnightly stitherum for #gtfc by webthingy Cod Almighty. Prefers reading to listening. Break even enthusiast. Grower.
It"s a piss-wet Tuesday, ages until Town get to reboot the season. So I'm sitting here, waiting for the bread to rise, playing the first Big Star album and thinking back to how good the football and the music was in 1972.

Everyone from Enid Blyton to Isaac Hayes talks fondly about hot buttered toast. For me it is a lifelong largely unresolved aspiration.
Toast goes cold SO quickly.

A Christmas card, hope everyone gets what they want out of it. I think I might do a Christmas diary this year.

They are saying Town have conceded 10 goals from the last 14 shots on target.

Say it ain't so Pym......

In my CA Diary today; the joy of queueing for fish and chips; a dollop of existential dread and counting the money up ready for January

Sat here with big mug of cocoa watching Town and idly planning tomorrow's Hotpot. Managed to get a leg of mutton.

Serious thought. The word "Bazball" has become a distraction. A smokescreen for what we're really watching. Average bowling, reckless batting, terrible catching. It doesn't need a funky label; call it what it is, rank bad cricket.

This is not an advert. He just makes me laugh

Thankfully I have a mate who is a dry stone waller and carves stone as a side hustle. The pointy finial fell off my house after 180 years luckily only damaging itself. Had some yorkstone kerbing that was destined for a skip so he can make a new one out of that.

70s retro buffet contribution for the party to while away a wet Saturday afternoon with no Town footy. Bring on the cheese and pineapple on sticks.

These ToTp 1998 repeats are largely first time listens for us. We were living in Marin Co. CA which was stuck in a 1970s hippy time warp then. Used to bump in to the Grateful Dead in my local Borders bookstore.

It seems to me extremely serendipitous that the one Saturday Town are not playing is the one Saturday this year I have to go out to an afternoon birthday tea for a friend's son. He's 30 for god's sake. Anyroad just got a massive four tier red velvet cake for him in the oven to be iced tomorrow.

"Who are still without a three point maximum on the road".

Or, as we all say, an away win.

Sky still taking a leaf from that David Mitchell sketch.

Today's walk slid into a dreary, cold damp trudge as England capitulated in quite the horror show.
Went out in the freezing pre-dawn with the dog listening to the ashes without headphones like a teenager. Gripping, magnificent cricket. And it has continued in the freezing house after our recently serviced and repaired boiler went on strike.

Owing to Beckham, Vinny et al I am told the country casual look (minus the ubiquitous gilet) I adopted nearly 20 years ago is the height of mens fashion this winter. Time to bin Hoggs of Fife and move on - I am thinking in terms of League of Gentlemen as my next step.

I just daydreamed that Gilsenan comes on, scores and then celebrates with a Poutonian high-stepping run. Suspect side effects from that shingles vaccination.

Pleased to announce that we have won the postcode lottery.
Yes, a two litre pyrex casserole (with lid) is winging its way to us as I write. Who needs money?
