Just finished A Curse Carved in Bone by Danielle L. Jensen, the sequel to A Fate Inked in Blood and just like the first book, it's something that I should really like, but I can't get into. It's really an interesting story filled with Norse mythology, which I love, but something about it just...
The story feels lacking somehow yet has all the elements of something fantastic! Action, mystery, and some awkwardly inserted 🌶, A Curse Carved in Bone continues Freya's story, but overall, it felt underwhelming, and I feel like maybe I'm the problem?

Finding out there's a Broadway show coming out, I had to rewatch one of my younger guilty pleasures, Romy and Michelle's High School Reunion. It's absurd, aimless, and awkward, and I still enjoyed it.
Overall, it's a very early 2000s comedy that's absurd, and It's definitely not for everyone, but if you like awkward comedies like Napoleon Dynamite or Nacho Libre, it's for you.

I had never watched Kung Fu Panda 2 and wasn't looking forward to it. I figured the sequel would probably just be more silly antics and cringy, yet it was great. Incredibly, it gives more character to the side cast, especially the dad character. I loved it, and it had so much heart!
With a villain that could have come off as silly and a story that could have easily fumbled into cringe, Kung Fu Panda 2 maintained a wonderful balance of action, comedy, and interpersonal relationships that had me hooked the entire movie! This is absolutely something child me would have been obsessed with, and now I'm excited to see 3 and 4. Dreamworks has easily become my favorite studio, and each movie seems to be better than the last. Overall, it's a wonderful family film with enough story and entertainment to keep everyone entertained of all ages.

Have you ever watched a movie and wondered what did it take to get to get it made? Was there blackmail? Extortion? Sacrifices to elderich horrors? My Brother the Pig feels like one of those movies. A children's movie that is so tone deaf I felt sorry for everyone involved in this horror.
Racisit, unfunny, and filled with awkward scenes that felt like this was written by a 13 year old over a night of doritos and Mountain Dew. I'm exaggerating a bit, but the plot is silly and seemed like it would be funny, but the whole mystical ethnic who comes from a simple village that revear the white folks was the starw that broke me. That said, it really is a movie made at the bare minimum. The jokes were low hanging, acting was basically just mugging for the camera, I'm not gonna knock on the kids, cuz well, kids, but every scene felt like it was shot quickly and in a hurry. sigh, I pretty much just watched it because I forget ScarJo was a child actor before she became famous, and she was alright, despite the horrible dialog she had to say. Overall, it is an insulting chore of a movie that tells kids to be a menace because other people will solve your problems.

I love this type of show; a fun, slice of life, Rom-Com, with melodramatic over the top, tounge firmly in cheek, story, and I ate this up for two seasons, but, as it's usually the case, canceled before it had a satisfying conclusion.
Overall, The Lady's Companion, or as its original spanish name Manual de Señoras, was a fun time with plenty of gags and misadventures but enough heart to keep me hooked and I am genuinely upset it ends on a cliffhanger. The colors were vibrant, and it just felt like its own universe kind of thing, and I just need more.

watched Kung Fu Panda with my wife last night, and I honestly forget how much fun and adorable this movie is. Plenty of laughs, though an incredibly talented cast seems so wasted on such small parts. It's not as great as Shrek or How To Train Your Dragon, but it's still very enjoyable.

Alt: Overall, the casting is very early 2000s, with a predominantly white cast talking about Kung Fu, but diversity aside, they did okay, and for a cartoon kung fu fighting panda, it was well animated, the choreography was surprisingly well done, and the laughs are genuine. Definitely a fun family mov8e.

With a second playthrough done, I am not going to try again for a long time, so I looked up the other endings. The combat in Silent Hill f is very off-putting for me. It's too reliant on your ability to counter and precise "get good" dodge mechanics that I am not good at. That said...
Silent Hill f is one of the best stories in the series. It doesn't tread Silent Hill 2 again. It feels original, earned, emotional, and poignant. Relatable characters going through a rough time in the sixties, that though it feels like a long time ago, things are still bad and as expected of women. I could go on and on about expectations and traditional dogma, but I want everyone to be able to expirence this game at least once. The combat aside, the puzzles were decent, though the hardest difficulty makes the Shakespeare puzzle from SH3 seem like a Blue's Clue riddle. It doesn't make sense, but I feel it depends on how well in tune you are with your intuition. I would love to know the difference in male/female experience with the game. Overall, Silent Hill f is a divisive game, with an amazing story, decent, sometimes beautiful graphics, but clunky and often times frustrating combat. (So much so they had to update it to make an easier combat mode.) I'm still excited to see where the series is going next!

Unsteady by Peyton Corinne was a fantastic little romance novel even though it's slightly outside of my wheelhouse.
Not being a sports fan in any capacity, I thought this would be difficult to get into, but it's not. It's starts as an angsty teen romance, but it goes much deeper.
I was emotionally invested toward the end, though the 🌶 scenes felt a little too descriptive for such young characters, but the stakes and emotions are high and very grounded while the ice skating and hocky are a backdrop on this wonderful story.

Just finished my first play through of Silent Hill f.
It was an amazing story with plenty of intrigue with deep storytelling and plenty of reasons to play it again as I try to get the true ending. but I do have some gripes.
The combat is very Souls like, which I'm not good at at all and refuse to play, some odd illogical puzzles, and some buggy moments take it down a notch from being my favorite of the series. but it makes up for all of that with wonderful music, animation, storytelling, and creative creature designs. Overall, Silent Hill f is worth expirencing for any fan of the franchise and is good enough to be considered one of the greats. (I put it slightly below 2, and definitely above 4.)

Finished Split Fiction with my wife the other day, and I loved it so much. It's not as great as It Takes Two or A Way Out, but the gameplay is so much fun, especially toward the end! it gets incredibly creative!
Overall, it's a pretty straightforward scifi story that dabbles with some heart for character development that's used to create incredible set pieces that make cooperative gameplay challenging and a lot of fun!

It's the book brought to life in a fantastic way, and I couldn't be happier! Frankenstein is one of my favorite books of all time, and I love most of the movies since, but this one is hands down my favorite!
Wit Guillermo Del Toro's signature style and a fantastic cast, Mary Shelley's novel was brought to life in a spectacular way that had me glued to the screen and made me want to see more! Overall, it's one of those rare times an adaptation lives up to the source material!

Decided I hated myself, and watched The Rats: A Witcher Tale, right after the show and, I will preface this with how much I don't care for prequels, especially if the story is already done and there's not a lot of lore to be had. This was one of those times.
The Rats are characters no one likes. We already know their fate if you watched this after the show. If you watched this before season 4, you're gonna be ver confused. Dolph Lungren shows up, and he's just there. This feels like a paycheck more than a story. It goes beat for beat like a tired old tropey story and offers nothing new. Anyone who's seen this kind of "heist." movie knows exactly how it's going to end. Especially if you've seen the show. The talent is fine. They're doing their best with what they've got, but it honestly felt like no one cares anymore. the writing is horrible, and the direction is weak. Plus.... and I have to mention this. As the movie was ending, I didn't want to be too harsh on it, but out of nowhere, a character yells as they head toward a horse-drawn buggy, "Shotgun!" Shotgun? Really? In a world with no guns, you're going to yell, "Shotgun!?" The was the straw that broke me. I hate this movie, and it's rare for me to actually hate a movie.

So I bit the bullet and watched the Witcher's latest season. I didn't want to. Henry Cavill seemed irreplaceable. Turns out I was right. And it's no fault of Liam Hemsworth. He's a fine actor in his own way, but not for Geralt. It's like putting Charlie Cox as Wolverine. it just doesn't work.

T. Kingfisher is quickly becoming one of my favorite writers. What Stalks the Deep is the 3rd in the series and another great mythical mystery.
Overall, the characters are a lot of fun, and the supernatural mystery had me hooked until the very end!

Isekai Harem, but makenit funny. I Got Abducted By Aliens and Now I'm Trapped in a Rom-Com by Kimberly Lemming made me laugh out loud in a weirdly raunchy spicey novel that balanced what could basically be adult content with comically absurd scenarios and I was hooked from beginning to end!
Overall, an insane trip that would probably have stayed in the dark corners of the internet a decade ago, but with more openness in the book community, I'm amazed more people aren't talking about this one! The Lion is my favorite character, but everyone is so well written in their own subtle snarky ways that I loved their interactions!

Probably my least favorite of Natasha Preston's novels, You Will Be Mine, had me skimming ahead and reaching the end and feeling like I didn't miss out anything important. I still love her characters, and the mystery made me intrigued, but it is definitely pretty weak.
Overall, a barebones murder mystery that felt a little forced, but still had enough character to make me want to know how it ends.

The Witches of El Paso by Luis Jaramillo was pretty cool. I have to admit I'm not one for time travel stories, so I had an inkling of how it would end by the halfway point but, I enjoyed the characters and recommend it to anyone who loves a good mystical mystery.
Overall, it was a little confusing at first, but the stoy picks up and gets you invested in these characters and their personal struggles.

This wasn't bad. I like the story. The first novel was fun, but they tend to drag a little, and the 🌶 scenes tend to make my mind check out.
Overall, it's a fun fantastical adventure that has pretty high stakes but forgets it's an epic and meanders a bit in sections for a little too long. A definite must for fans of Fourth Wing and Throne of Glass.

Rewatched Hotel Transylvania with my wife. I forget how funny this is. Seriously, I love this way more than Sandler 's other live action stuff. Hopefully, I'll watch parts 2 and 3 for the first time this week.

Just finished watching Beetlejuice Beetlejuice with my wife, and we had fun with it! It's not a good movie, but it makes up for it with a whimsical "lol random-ness" that can only come from Tim Burton. It lacks any substance and is honestly carried by its amazing stellar cast.
With an amazing cast of actors working hard to make this plot work, a lot of good, if unconnected, gags, and needle drops that shouldn't work, but do. Beetlejuice 2 is a mess of short stories loosly interconnected by characters that feel forgotten half the time by the plot. Keaton looks like he never stepped away from the role. He's hilarious in it. The familial trio played by Catherine, Wynona, and Jenna are the heart of the movie, and I seriously wanted more of them together. I'm sad there was no cameo by Alec and Gina, but I'm glad their characters were at least mentioned. Overall, it's a silly fun time if you love Burton. It's definitely not his worst.
