Everyone has their own sense of when things went completely off the rails, but my mind returns again and again to the founding of Fox News in the late 90s. Naked RW propaganda plopped itself down alongside legitimate journalism and everyone just accepted it. Everything else has followed from that.

Bizarre really doesn't cover it.

Life is awesome.
woah this is genuinely, utterly WILD

Ant queens of one species produce males of another species, so she can then mate with them and produce hybrid workers!

This is so gloriously weird I can't quite compute it 🤯🧪🐜

What we're running into headlong (societal destruction) and how we maybe able to stop it.
I don’t say this lightly:
We’re nowhere near the bottom.

In fact, we might just barely be approaching the midpoint.
And the path ahead gets darker — by design.

Let me tell you about a book that dissected all of this.

Most people have never heard of it.

Reducing SO2 pollution saves lives!

But it's really important to slash CO2 emissions, too, because "recent aerosol cuts may have contributed ~0.14C of the ~0.5C of warming the world has experienced since 2007."

Can we at least get a mandatory test for PD for politicians/government members and C suite executives out of all of this? The clown show of narcissists on full display all over the world should be a good enough incentive.

I suddenly wonder if, should earth's climate remain survivable, thousands of years from now, stories would survive about how a trojan horse became the downfall of the wealthiest and most powerful human empire ever, in a historical blink of an eye. I doubt they'll match the classics, though.

To understand why I'm on a list of "doomers", you only have to follow the person doing year round, all day "live" reporting on how our climate is changing before our eyes.

Another summer day in Central Asia with
36.4 in Turkmenistam, 34.9 in Uzbekistan and 33.2 in Kazakhstan.
11th day >30C in 11 april days in Central Asia (and at least 6 or 7 more to come).
This is absolutely MENTAL.

Earliest 30C in history of Siberia probably coming in 2 days !
ASIAN HEAT WAVE

Here we go with another extremely hot night:
Minimum temperatures >22C in the Uzkbekistan valleys, like in mid July.
Max temperatures are also turning exceptional :an update will be provided later.

This is gonna get FAR worse:48/49C coming in Pakistan, 45/46C Middle East etc...
