The current position of the Republicans in Congress: They would change nothing that ICE and CBP are doing, and they'd allow massive increases in funding for what they're now doing to go ahead. They're just fine with the current policies, practices, and governance of ICE and CBP.

Ask DHS officials where they got the information they provided in official statements and press conferences. Have the agents involved in the killing been questioned under oath? Does DHS employ a public relations firm and are they party to crafting statements and releases?

Putin pioneered this. No opposition is legitimate. Regular, decent, “ordinary” people cannot possibly be against us because only we represent “the real people.”

The real shame is that the Pretti family — and we — will never know what transpired in those 30 seconds. A judge has ordered the evidence to be preserved and unaltered. It’s too late. The lies and the cover up began the moment the execution was over.
