To all those Senators and Senate leadership who say, you don’t understand how it works: maybe not, but we’re starting to get a pretty good idea.

NYTimes happy to slander Biden over his health. But give Trump a pass on Epstein.

Get ready. The administration will slow walk the reopening and resumption of services. The suffering will continue, and Dems will be blamed.

I know it’s a cliché, but the phrase “snatching defeat from the jaws of victory comes to mind.” Best to shut your pie hole, Tim (Lame) Kaine.

I got back to my office after the vote last night and recorded this. There's no way to sugarcoat what happened. And my fear is that Trump gets stronger, not weaker, because of this acquiescence. I'm angry - like you. But I choose to keep fighting.

You ever have that feeling like your partner is cheating on you and you look up to see he/she's voting to end the shutdown? Gut punched.

In response to this claim that the "strategy didn't work."

The people were on our side. We were building momentum to help save our democracy. We could have won - the premium increase notices were just starting.

And giving in now will embolden him. Things will likely get worse.

@hassan.senate.gov has a special needs kid but just said fuck you to all the families who won’t be able to afford healthcare for their kids! 😡 Guess her kid will be fine.

Kaine is thinking of himself though he says all the fed workers in VA(say voters).

Durbin thinks he’s taking one for…Schumer…so worthless

There isn’t anyone who caved who will be voted back in

Turning my back
Yes. There is something to that. The message they took was centrism wins. Wrong lesson. Strength wins. They just lost the midterms. Why start a fight if you won’t finish it? Some like Angus King have voted against any shutdowns ever. Some like Kaine are straws in the wind.

Once Again, Senate Democrats Show They Don’t Get Who They Represent
The party was riding high on election wins, a fractured GOP, and a flailing Trump. And then the Senate Surrender Caucus handed Republicans a win.

This only thing worse than a gov shutdown for 40 days is a shutdown that achieved nothing but pain and suffering for the people it was supposed to protect.

I just called my senators: hold the line.

Q: Will you assure House Democrats they'll get a vote on ACA subsidies by a date certain?

MIKE JOHNSON: Ah -- no. I'm not promising anyone anything.
November 10, 2025 at 2:14 AM
After 15 years and 100 failed votes, Republicans finally figured out how to kill the ACA -- let Democrats do it! Good going, Dems.

Begs the question: what was the point of shutting down the government for 40 days?

Within a day or two, the Republicans were going to have to choose between (a) conceding the ACA subsidies, (b) nuking the filibuster, or (c) allowing air travel to descend into total chaos.

The Dems, fresh off big election victories, let the GOP off the hook.

This is beyond betrayal.
