Flying back to #Singapore at night is quite a sight when the plane flies over the ships at anchor south of the island. It really impresses on the observer how important shipping and trade is to this small island.

Periodic reminder that because Hong Kong, Taiwan and (other) diasporic Chinese communities (in Malaysia, Singapore, etc.) did not suffer through the Cultural Revolution, they have kept up cultural traditions and practices. Unlike the Mainland Chinese.

If China takes Taiwan and US can no longer act as a counterweight to China, China will create a sphere of influence in Asia in its image, and Asian countries will lose their autonomy. This is why it's so important to prevent Taiwan's fall, and guard against China's expansionism.

I'm unfamiliar with the genre, but it triggered a lost childhood memory of hearing a song in the same style on TV. After months of searching, I found it today.

I'm unfamiliar with the genre, but it triggered a lost childhood memory of hearing a song in the same style on TV. After months of searching, I found it today.
My mom often sang a few lines of this very old Cantonese song (her happy song) but I’ve never heard it as a complete song until chancing on it today.
