It’s time for Speaker Johnson to cut the ridiculous excuses and do his job. Adelita Grijalva won an election more than 6 weeks ago, and she still hasn’t been sworn in to represent more than 800,000 Arizonans. Read her op-ed:
I was elected 6 weeks ago. Speaker Mike Johnson refuses to swear me in.
Speaker Mike Johnson refuses to swear me into office, an unprecedented and starkly undemocratic position that sets a very dangerous precedent.

So it turns out... the US air travel system was incredibly, deeply dependent on federal funding to just run day-to-day all this time, to the benefit of private airline shareholders, when everyone thinks that state-run trains are leeching off the government. Weird!

Our taxes should never have been used this way. They always have money for whatever they want to have money for, so if you are struggling it is because they want you to struggle, and if you are dying on the streets, welp, that’s a policy decision, too. #GovernmentForThePeople
Back in 2015 a report showed that the Pentagon spent $6.8 million to pay for patriotic displays during the games of professional sports teams.

The report found that since 2012, the Pentagon had signed 72 contracts with teams in the NFL, MLB, the NHL, and MLS that amounted to "paid patriotism."

I just changed my mind about sharing a useful and informative article because the orange one’s picture was needlessly chosen to be on the share. Deleted it but it popped right back. Why? It wasn’t directly about that person and the decision to hang his picture on it seems odd.

Guess I'll spend today wrapping my head around the fact that the White House sought (and got) an emergency appeal from the Supreme Court to allow them to not give people the means to buy enough food. They absolutely can feed people, they just don't want to, which is making my brain short circuit.

Looks like we did it, Virginia. I got to the polls at 4:30 this morning and got home around 10pm. So seriously tired but needed to see results. They haven’t called it for my guy, McAuliff, but it looks like we’ve flipped this delegate seat, too. Such relief.

That is ending. Politicians ended it. It will cripple our future competitiveness.

And it’s such a bitter tragedy. Almost no Americans, Conservative or Liberal, grasp what is now being stolen from them.

All these pols talks about how expensive healthcare is in the US, but they won’t actually admit why, which is a gang of private insurance companies extracting billions in profits as “middlemen”. Your healthcare insurance company doesn’t provide any REAL benefit, they just gatekeep access.

In case anyone had doubts:
Republicans are intentionally denying children food in an attempt to force Democrats to agree to taking away their healthcare. The kicker is that there is no guarantee that SNAP begins again regardless. Congress has abdicated its control of government spending.
The USDA has more than $5 billion in emergency funds available to cover SNAP benefits but is refusing to spend them during the government shutdown. It's the first time in the history of the program that the federal government has refused to spend those funds
SNAP benefit freeze will leave millions nationwide struggling to pay for food – including 472,711 people in Philadelphia
Starting Nov. 1, 2025, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits will stop being distributed in Pennsylvania due to the federal government shutdown, which began Oct. 1.
