I sometimes vaguely wonder how MAGA family will respond when/if they come for me. Will they console themselves that I “brought it on myself” by not sitting down and shutting up? Will I be among the villains in their stories? A cautionary tale that reinforces the ethos of obedience?

Reading Polly Mackenzie’s essay “Pain” this morning and was struck by “The problem belongs to everyone, and therefore to no one.” The same can be said about climate change, though she doesn’t mention it. Perhaps there should be a department dedicated to climate mitigation - take funding from DHS.

The Nancy Guthrie kidnapping is baffling for me. I hope that she is okay. It seems the kidnappers didn’t think things through very well and I am concerned that they may not tend to their hostage’s basic needs, not through malice but due to inattention.
