Dems are losing the war on state gerrymandering. There will be a blue wave in response to this administration, sure, but disenfranchising the voters beforehand means it won’t matter. The position numbers aren’t there.

This is awesome! Click the link to see a large list of organizations set up to support Minnesotans in a wide variety of ways. There are several at the neighborhood level, even. Wow, blown away at the effort being taken. Nicely done, MN!
In Minnesota, scores of ordinary people are bravely looking out for their neighbors, defending their communities, and protesting lawless violence.

They are the best of America.

Here's how to stand with them. www.standwithminnesota.com

Stand With Minnesota is a hub for supporting, learning, and taking action to support Minnesotans impacted by ICE and federal enforcement.

It’s a fact of Bluesky: the wonderful accounts you follow aren’t usually the ones you are seeing in your feed. Take a few minutes to click on your ‘following’ link and *like* the valuable content they are creating.

Can we talk about ‘cloud dancer’? It seems all segments of the US society are pandering to the pres, out of fear or jubilation. White washing is our year, and it extends literally in paint to Pantone. Time to do better.

From 1883 until 2025’s golden visas:

"Give me your tired, your poor, / Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, / The wretched refuse of your teeming shore. / Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me, / I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"

Just learned that Trump’s Kennedy Center Honors recipient Gloria Gaynor claims not to be a feminist, because she loves men. Arghh. Feminism isn’t about hating men at all, but about women having access to all aspects of society (sorry, feminist sociologist here). Ruins *the* song for me, honestly.

And it’s Hate Meghan season again in the media! Lucy Mangan starts us off from The Guardian. She begs (just) Harry to come home and claims to be harmed from Meghan’s TV series. If Lucy withstood the abuse Meghan gets, she’d be a crying lump in bed, but somehow it is just fine waged against Meghan.

How The NY Times sane-washes the news. Headline today: “Hegseth Ordered Lethal Attack but Not Killing of Survivors, Officials Say.”

Hegseth committed war crimes. Period.

Trump didn’t ‘flip’ his position for no reason. Ordering Bondi to start active investigations Garland-style against a large list of individual men whose files will now be protected under law along with any that tangentially mention Trump was his chess move. Have to admit, he slithered away.

White “Freedom” T-shirt *lawn signs* are popping up everywhere where I live. Someone making a version with a second line underneath, I’m thinking red, “FOR PEDOS” could make a lot of money. Ooh, billboards! Twist the narrative.

That is what my mind thinks of at 6am. Carry on.

Done!
We’re rolling out billboards in key GOP districts that call House Republicans out by name for backing Trump’s shutdown. Please pitch in if you can to help us make sure constituents in these districts know their GOP representatives are siding with Trump over working families.

Spread the word.
The gaslighting is wild. THEY control the White House, the House, and the Senate—yet always find a way to blame Democrats for their mess.

The so-called “$1.5 trillion wish list” is about protecting health care, food assistance, and housing. (1/2)

Credit where credit is due—this shutdown is Republican-led and Republican-Fed.
Republicans in Congress could end the Trump shutdown today by passing a budget deal that protects your health care and takes away Trump’s blank checks.

Let your legislators hear from you.

Great article to read, below. Highly recommend following Greenberg here.
Trump’s “enemy within” rhetoric isn’t bluster — it’s cultural work. Words recast dissent as treason, cities as battlegrounds, and neighbors as expendable. Preparations for military dictatorship are already underway.

Canceled my subscription after the election, but I still skim the headlines on the way down the page to the free games… saw this *today* and thought; does the NYTimes actively oppose our Disney Plus cancelations? I can believe it.
