I get tired of saying it, but I’ll say it again: the nature of oppression in America is that they workshop it first on Black, Latino, Asian & Native people.

But it is always, in the end, coming for everyone.
The arrests of journalists Don Lemon and Georgia Fort are a test for every MSM member with a platform. If you are not voicing your outrage at this blatant violation of the First Amendment, you are utterly discredited as a journalist.

the arrest of journalists in minneapolis, including don lemon, is more evidence that the only move the administration knows how to make is to use force, and does not know how to respond when that force is met with defiance and indifference.

White House posts image bragging about Don Lemon's arrest that includes at top after "Lemons..." the chains used on slaves--not anything dealing with modern day law enforcement like a handcuff. The white supremacist regime is not hiding they did this for their white supremacist base.

Georgia Fort, an independent journalist and vice president of the Minnesota NABJ chapter, was also arrested by federal agents this morning

I was sent this video of agents at her door:

“The changes the White House has made over the last 24 hours are purely nominal... But nominal doesn’t mean meaningless. They show the White House saw the current situation was untenable. They couldn’t keep people in line.”

This entire thread is important. Exactly the movement analysis and reporting that our media will never do. Watch ICE, denounce fascism all you like - we’ll never build power if we don’t learn how. The Minnesotans aren’t simply “nice.” They are deeply organized.
With so many of us watching the tremendous mobilizations in Minneapolis, culminating in the call to action against ICE today, I wanted to share some of what I have gathered from talking to comrades in Minneapolis over the past few weeks. A few things stood out:

Once again, wtf is the meaning of this?
The subpoenas cited "no specific criminal statute" according to the NYT. In other words, more political lawfare against opponents of regime repression. #Minnesota

By using words like “arrest” and “capture” to describe the abduction of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, media evoke a framing where the “good guys” and “bad guys” are preordained.

Labeling Kidnapping a ‘Capture,’ Media Legitimate Violation of International Law
It’s misleading to use language like “capture” and “arrest,” which evoke the US upholding the law, to describe heavily armed US forces taking Maduro prisoner.

"Protesters clashed with federal agents"

In Minneapolis, in 100+ videos during the past 6 weeks, time and again, we see a bunch of folks just standing around being unprovokedly SET UPON by federal agents.
Protesters clashed with federal agents for another night outside the Whipple Federal Building, which holds ICE detainees. Agents fired less-lethal munitions and deployed chemical irritants at the crowd.

Yes: ICE is stealing and selling people’s things after brutalizing them. There are no words.
