Leadership rules have changed since the 90s. To tack to the centre they need to insulate those elections from the membership. But that requires consensus that doesn’t exist.

I saw a clip of Rory Stewart talking about AI replacing GP's and reinventing the NHS the other day. Yes it's just one ex politician turned podcaster but if the policy is being led by the hype rather than understanding the real limitations of the product it's a huge problem.

Sunak's clearly willing to buy whatever bridge a silicone valley bro wants to sell him. Blair is happily hoovering up Larry Ellison's money and talking about how AI will let gov shrink the civil service to bathtub size (to mildly paraphrase). I hope there's a counter to the sales machine somewhere.

I, uh, straight up just don't believe that China caviar story, sorry. Or rather I am convinced this will end badly somehow. Fish farms aren't actually somehow an ecologically sustainable form of growing fish stocks.
