Necessity found me heading southbound into the US two months ago. Cleared my phone of all political memes, comments, etc. Only one negative incident outweighed by many apologies. However returning home never felt more emotional. An exhale of sorts.

The new Waterboys album, Life , Death and Dennis Hopper, is truly a wild and beautiful ride. I purposely saved my first listen for a road trip. No liner notes. No lyrics. Just the album played along the open road. It plays like a road movie with vibes ranging from Kerouac to Bacharach.

When you’ve been away from Canada for seven weeks, you really need to top up your soul with some fine Canadian rock ‘n roll by The Hip as performed by the great tribute band, Fabulously Rich. Now I cross another border. One familiar yet unknown. Those tunes will come along for the ride.
