I've said something similar before, but I wish more people drew medieval Gaels in historically accurate saffron tunics and embroidered jerkins instead of going on Braveheart-derived flights of fancy. (Though admittedly, I do indulge in Braveheart-derived fantasy from time to time)

Allow me again to express my annoyance that the word “vanilla” is routinely used to mean “basic” or “unimaginative”, considering how insanely difficult it is to grow vanilla outside of its Central American natural range, and how such feat was only made possible because a Black boy got imaginative.
