Curious about the connection between philology and heresiology in Roman antiquity? Do you wonder why everyone hated Marcion?

Challenging philological and critical understandings of authenticity, The Authentic Paul tells the story of numerous critical scholars, from antiquity to the modern period, who have laboured to make a book of Paul’s letters free from textual variation and forgery.

Honoured and excited to be part of this conversation at #aarsbl25 ! Time to move beyond the status quo on the authorship/authenticity of the Pauline epistles 📨
Zen Hess (Baylor University) recently conducted a survey of scholarly opinions on how involved Paul was in composing the letters attributed to him.

At SBL 2025 (#aarsbl25), the Pauline Epistles unit will host a related conversation on authenticity in the study of Paul.

Details below!

The kitten, which was found in Russia's northeastern Sakha Republic, still had fur and whiskers when it was discovered.

Inky paw print on a sherd from Thebes, Egypt, recording Maieuris paid their taxes at around 94 CE. I've flipped the image so the paw print is facing up & the text is inverted. My guess is this was a cat, it's a cat kinda thing to do no? But I'm not an expert. 6.5x6.4cm
