For me the difference had a reason. All UK (and most German and French) soaps air in access prime-time or prime-time & are regularly among their network's highest rated scripted programming.
When you ask non-fans in the US to name a soap they know they'll at best ask if General Hospital is still on.

Based on the US soap operas I am watching as regular as I can, these shows are ranging from bad to good(BTG is still enjoyable but its definitely falling behind in some areas). UK soap operas that I am watching (mostly Emmerdale and Hollyoaks) are still entertaining me though and are better
