A fascinating review. Thoughtful analysis. Much to discuss. Should ABA be reverted to dormin? My only big disagreement is that the author does not consider ion channels as potential receptors. Comparison to other kingdoms shows that ion channels can be hormone receptors. Great for journal clubs

Happy+proud to see my review published together with @mehta-lab.com! SO much great work studying crop adaptations to new latitudes. Again realizing we need an even stronger clasp of hands across upstream and downstream (research) pathways so that the plants we love+eat can tackle climate change.
Delighted to share the lab’s first independent publication, a Tansley Insight in @newphyt.bsky.social where we analyse new crop genomics studies to show how we can engineer plants that can grow at different latitudes (key for climate-smart Ag) nph.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/...

Cool 🌱
Plants "bleed" too, but through gases!
When wounded, ethylene leaks out and oxygen seeps in. This gas shift acts as an alarm, triggering self-repair to seal the breach. Excited to share our new collaborative work uncovering this clever plant mechanism! Excellent summary here, indulge!

Lots of excellent advice in this piece. The core message - only through writing do you really think and order your thoughts into logical sense. Makes a case for not using AI for 1st draft because you bypass the thinking step
