If you stand in the west end of the nave and look up at the south clerestory you will see the end sticking out of an arch. they left it in situ for repairs! Also because why bother bringing it back down

The 112 metre Domtoren in the centre of #Utrecht. Built between 1321-82 as the west tower of the Cathedral. The nave was destroyed by a tornado in 1674 and since then it has been freestanding. So huge it looks almost fake!

Time we had a Friday pic from my archive.
