Do I need another social network I ask myself. Culture and theatre, all points North. Public transport complaints. Emerging gardening. Relationship Manager, Touring. Views all my very own.
Just spent actual hours photographing, packing and listing stupid things on Vinted. This is why I just give the stuff to a charity shop!

I interrupt my media pause (I forgot about this place) with a familiar gripe: Crosscountry trains, the worst franchise. The longest route in the country, the smallest amount of baggage space and they only ever seem to run 4 carriages on it 🤷‍♀️. And it’s not running the sw stops as no driver 🙄

I for one would like to introduce the builder two doors down to this mystical concept of *wireless headphones*. You can do your work AND I get to sit in my sunny garden without having to share your soundtrack!

Invested in some actually good dates (as in the ones you eat) and they’re so good. Those little dried out things are but candles to the gigantic flame of tastiness of a proper nice date

Failing everyone rather than letting a woman pass . 6 times! @u-bilbo.bsky.social one for the Silly History treatment?
Drummond sat the Chief Engineer's exam SIX YEARS in a row. Was marked as failed every time.

In 1936, the Board of Trade were forced to admit they were deliberately failing her because she was a woman. Which meant failing EVERYONE who sat the exam with her to cover it up, as her scores were too high
I'm assuming people have you covered by now BUT a noteworthy example of getting an absurd level of performance out of a ship would be Victoria Drummond getting 12.5 knots out of a dog of a ship whose previous best was just 9.

Circus animals helped to keep Sheffield's steel industry in action during the first world war. Lizzie the elephant carted machinery, scrap metal and munitions around the city, replacing at least three horses.

The case of Manchester 10 -- where young men were given prison sentences for sending texts -- was bleak. Around it, however, an inspiring community campaign was built to support the boys + families. I spoke to a key organiser about it. Read more: wefightthegoodfight.substack.com/p/the-big-re...

Tarte tatin - finally have a pan that can go in the oven. Said pan was bought by parents 20 odd years ago at a south Asian grocery shop. It is the pan of lore and now it has been passed to me. With this tart I have fulfilled my culinary duty

I accidentally cleaned our decking in my lunch break. I used a broom and a watering can. It was so satisfying I now need to implement round 2. Like watching those YouTube cleaning vids but with actual real life impact. Amazing right.
