Tangata Tiriti (she/her/ia) in Te Whanganui-a-Tara. Worrying about climate change, social injustice, erosion of democracy.

My wife and I were on a beach in the Wellington area and found this at a car park, in the grass.

It is approximately the size of a person's hand, made of bone, and intricately carved.

I've masked the lower half,as only the legitimate owner will be able to fully describe it.

Please share this...(1)

new RBNZ governor thinks about gold. RBNZ holds no gold. #nzpol

Reporter: Renee Good was shot in the head and killed by an ICE Agent.

Leavitt: Why was she killed?

Reporter: Because an ICE agent acted recklessly and killed her unjustifiably

Leavitt: You’re a left-wing hack. You’re not a reporter.

Forget Greenland, Iran, collapsing cranes or data breach fallout …. let’s focus the first 7.5 minutes of the 6pm TVNZ news on the ABs coach bring sacked. 7.5 minutes FFS with live cross and extended coverage. NZ get a grip. #nzpol

What part of "independent" does Winston Peters not understand?

I was pleased to see RBNZ governor Anna Breman appears to have integrity to support an international peer. More than Ministers in NZ govt are showing.

TGIF. Looking forward to the end of this week. I’ve got the house to myself tonight so it’ll be me, Graham, Jacinda with poached eggs on toast and a glass of sauv. Bliss.

What is the purpose of austerity? And who benefits? One of the impacts measured in the UK is that children are now shorter (avg 5 year old). Do we want that for our kids? #nzpol

My son’s school had been quiet on the supporting te Tiriti debate. The Board Chair’s speech at prizegiving made it clear that te Tiriti is a foundation and they will continue to promote and honour it. I couldn’t be happier. #nzpol

Worst NACT act of the week ? Not wanting to “rage-bait” anyone. No, it’s been cathartic for me to highlight the destruction of things I hold dear.

Hating that I might be a rage-baiter, my last ever Worst NACT act comes early and is disempowering of iwi-Māori partnership boards for health…

Worst NACT act of the week for me was Erica Stanford’s “frankly disgusting” rant about schools supporting Te Tiriti. We are meant to be a democratic nation and the power are speaking.

Worst NACT act of the week IMHO is the banning of puberty blockers. The targeting of our young people and m trans community is truly vile. Leave these life changing decisions where they belong.

Worst NACT act of the week ? Passing the Regulatory Stds Bill into law despite 99% of 156,000 submissions opposed to a bill spearheaded by a party with just 8.64% of the people’s vote. This is not democracy and it really saddens me.

Humans forget that we too are animals, & that we only survived thru eons on this planet because of the “Goldilocks Zone”. If we continue to increase temperatures, that “just right” zone will become unliveable, not just for Amazon’s dolphins but for most/all of us.

Act now to cut emissions.
