Pupdate!

It seems that waiting has paid off. We believe she has dodged the need for another surgery. A third day of X-rays tomorrow to confirm though.

She did eat this evening though, which is the first time since Monday.

So lucky she is cute though. I swear.

Looking highly likely she will need another surgery. I don’t know who has 6k to drop on a dog twice in four weeks but it’s not me. I still haven’t gotten insurance money back from the first surgery.
Peggy is sick again. No idea what’s going on but it’s looking exactly like it did before her surgery. Vet won’t take her, so I’m waiting for the Urgent Care vet to open.

The number of game stores in my area that I will not go to because I’ve been treated badly by “regulars” is greater than zero. And I am NOT a casual RPG fan. If your store is welcoming, I WILL be back.
Synopsis: You need to kick more people out.

You will actually have a larger base of customers/attendees if you kick more people out. You will make more money. I am dead serious.

I do not know who any of these packers players are at this point.

Just a reminder as I wake up to a timeline that is nothing but reposts of people being outraged: it’s okay to feel that way. It’s okay to want to find a solution. But spend time considering what your goal is when you repost/share things.
Consuming and sharing every piece of news isn’t actually helping. Knowledge is power, but there is a point of diminishing returns too. Try to be mindful of what and how much you share. Don’t contribute to the overwhelming nature of things!

You Can’t Post Your Way Out of Fascism
Authoritarians and tech CEOs now share the same goal: to keep us locked in an eternal doomscroll instead of organizing against them, Janus Rose writes.

#CharacterCreationChallenge is now on.

For each day in January, create a new character and post it online for an RPG that you play or wish to play.

Full info here > tardiscaptain.com/gaming/chara...

And I've started a blog for my submissions. Yeah I know.

New Year’s Eve/ New Year’s Day is always slightly unsettling to me as this worldwide, shared liminal space. There is so much sorrow and anticipation and fear and joy all at once. I often find it emotionally overwhelming — the desire to carefully reflect and idyllically plan simultaneously.

I get to be off work tomorrow because it’s one of the six days that actually count as a holiday in the medical field so that’s pretty neat. I took Friday off too since the kids don’t have school and they are at my house. Somehow I’m already stressed about being out of my routine again though.

No. Just no.

There’s literally nothing that happened on a regulatory front that would require you to send me six emails between 4:45 PM Monday and 9 AM on Tuesday.

NOTHING.

At what point am I allowed to respond to someone saying “ you have exceeded the limit of communication.”

I’m 37 years old and my dad finally let me use a nail gun today.

But it was the smaller one because I was worried I might hurt someone with the big one honestly.

I bought a dress for Christmas to go with the cape and Kate did a mini photo shoot for me today!

Feeling really lonely this week. The kids are off school and I am off work but because of custody schedules I’m basically hanging out home alone until the afternoon of Christmas Day. I’ve been doing a few activities with my siblings but it kind of sucks being in an empty house most of the time.

Saw the doc today. They said they are making plans for their patients in case things go through. Essentially it would be private practice family doctors opening up their doors on sliding scale/subscription models. But they think we can at least get puberty blockers before any changes take place.
We have an appointment on Monday with Kate’s doctor to talk about starting puberty blockers and I’m really scared we won’t even be able to get that sorted out in time before a ban goes through. I’m so sick over all of it.

How much of the budget for The Crown was allocated to foley of shoes in palace hallways?

It has to be like 75% of the cost of making this show.

1. The federal government has just attempted to enact a national trans youth care ban.

A new HHS rule would shutter most gender-affirming care for trans youth nationwide.

It violates multiple laws and the constitution, and will likely go into effect in a few months.

Our latest story here:
Nationwide Trans Youth Care Ban Imminent As Trump Admin Announces "Nuclear Option" Federal Rule
The new federal rule formalizes previous threats to hospitals to pull Medicaid funding, and represents a significant legal stretch by this administration.

3. Rather than directly banning Medicaid reimbursement for transgender care, the rule would bar any hospital that accepts Medicaid funding from providing gender-affirming care for trans youth at all, regardless of whether that care is paid for by Medicaid.

A bill passed the house yesterday that would criminalize parents/doctors providing gender affirming care for kids under 18. On top of today’s announcement. It’s already hard to access care, but would make it a crime for me to take care of my own fucking kid.

Please call your senators. Please.
NEW: The Trump administration announced a harmful new proposal that would block access to essential gender-affirming medical care for transgender youth across the country.

If this discriminatory regulation moves forward, we will see this administration in court.

Pupdate!

Peggy had her surgical follow-up yesterday and got a clean bill of health. She is now allowed to go back to playing and using the stairs like a normal dog. She has also put on 2lbs since her surgery, so only 3 more to get back to her pre-incident weight.

Like… take Nixon out of this game.

Peggy is slowly starting to perk up. She’s eating food and wagging her tail again. Still moving pretty slow and definitely underweight from the ordeal but so glad she’s on the mend.
