The Mitch Mcconnell interview on @60minutes.bsky.social was infuriating. He will not leave the legacy he hopes he will.

RFK jr. is really angry about chronic diseases in the U.S. and committed to finding an answer, so long as that answer has absolutely nothing to do with ending our for-profit healthcare system and adopting the universal healthcare system that every other developed nation has.

Dr Fauci treated a US health care worker infected w Ebola in Sierra Leone.
"Even when you have optimum facilities-the disease itself is truly devastating."
Fauci says he also wanted to show his staff that he wouldn't ask them to do anything he wouldn't do himself

If you want to read a new book coming out but don't want to buy it, a great thing you can do is ask your local library to order it. The more requests they get, the more likely they are to acquire it and then lots of people will get to read it who othewise wouldn't.

Any Black person who performs at Trump’s inauguration dishonors:

• The Black families he refused to rent to,

• The Black kids he targeted in the Central Park case,

• The Black president he lied about,

• The Black election workers he targeted, and

• The Black Haitian immigrants he lied about.

my biggest 2024 breakthrough: discovering that scarecrows aren't real. crops are just SO much easier to steal now. i used to pull up one or two turnips and run off, but i'm not scared anymore. the only challenge ahead of me in 2025 is to keep from eating so many turnips i give myself a stomach ache

At least the robber barons of the 19th century felt some compunction that motivated them to give back. Carnegie Libraries, Vanderbilt University, and Rockefeller-supported national parks like Shenandoah. Now we have overlords who make us all dumber and tweet "concerning" to anything intellectual.

The end of the first Gilded Age was marked by massive amounts of unrest and political violence that didn’t abate until FDR was elected and began implementing the New Deal. The GOP and their oligarchs seem determined to replay that history today.
