One of the best videos ive seen in a while. A great dive into the nature of creativity and the values we get from it. Where it goes in the 2nd half hits really hard, especially because its so well presented.

My preference for the physical act of playing an instrument is (unfortunately) justified.

In addition to all of the people in those documents deserving death, many people online should meet the same fate based on how they are posting about it.

Darren Aranofsky's new project is AI slop, but what do you expect him to do? Satoshi Kon tragically passed away in 2010, so Aranofsky has long been lacking in an actual artist to steal from

Makes sense that the man who stole from Satoshi Kon's work multiple times would make an animated series with a plagiarism machine. (clip via @ani-obsessive.bsky.social )

Alex Pretti "used to tell people off when they made sexist comments to female physicians. He bought me coffee when I had a really bad day as an intern...I laughed alongside him daily. He made a point to teach medical residents without judgement, but with a smile on his face and a joke."

If you read Carney closely, he’s not actually opposed to the existence of a transactional hegemonic power on principle so much as he wants a seat at the big boys table next to the hegemon

In a way, I guess he’s advocating for a more inclusive transactionalism

…Except Carney’s denunciation of the neoliberal capitalist world order is later followed by him bragging about cutting taxes for businesses / investors and getting rid of government regulations

So I’m not quite sure what system Carney is railing against or what kind of world he aspires to build?

I keep reflecting on the surrealness of Mark Carney, former Governor of the Bank of England and Bank of Canada, invoking an anti-communist essay by Vaclav Havel to declare at Davos that the American-led neoliberal capitalist world order is a “lie”

NEW: This is a REAL story in The Globe and Mail today.

Canadian Armed Forces are modelling responses to a US military invasion from the south.

They expect Canadian forces to be overrun in a fortnight, so the plan centres on Afghanistan-style insurgencies to inflict mass casualties on US troops

Huh, looks like they're going with a SZA song for Hathaway 2's Bond theme opening. Neil Sedaka compositions aside, I think this might be the first time the franchise has gone with a Western artist for the key song to an animated Gundam project?

Since my Metroid guide was new to a lot of people, I figure I'd reshare my old Hand-Drawn Zelda guide. It's a fully illustrated guide to the first Zelda, complete with dungeon maps, and tied together in a storybook presentation. It's also free!
