US government and politics watcher. 145k on TikTok. Mostly just a voter with takes. I do a lot of typos, and BlueSky won’t let me fix them.

We had to say goodbye to one of our best friends today. He had a lot of names, he wore a lot of hats, and he helped me through many challenges. A dog might be man’s best friend, but a cat is man’s best roommate. You were a real one, Bean. Love you forever.

From the NYT editorial board yesterday. Note that the current administration is hyper-focused on personal identity and Americans' differences. Especially race, gender, sexuality, and religion.

I think it’s annoying when shows like Paradise go through all the trouble of setting up an atleast somewhat interesting setting and situation only to tell a whodunnit that could just as easily be told without the setting or situation.

I don’t necessarily disagree with the sentiment, but I loathe the idea that only those who don’t have a lot going care enough about who runs our government to think about it carefully. Apathy isn’t a virtue.
most people don't really think much about stuff like this, they've got lots going on and they wanna try something different

“People celebrated William F. Buckley, and I think I’m like Buckley, but people don’t celebrate me. In fact, people these days would be more likely to celebrate James Baldwin instead of be appreciative that Baldwin was even allowed in the same room as Buckley. Therefore, down with the Constitution.”
