Some people are so afraid of people being queer and trans because we get to explore what our identities are and decide how we want to express that to the world

This sounds like a good strategy: text your loved ones who are in the police or military. Don't be angry with them, talk to them. Speak to their humanity. What the government is doing to people right now is oppressive and they have the power to stop it collectively.

The fundamental idea of TVP was that we could dramatically reduce strife by eliminating the basic mechanism of wealth accumulation that leads to poverty. They are probably right, and I think that we can make strides toward that goal and see real progress in our lifetimes.

in other words, the more we demand we abolish ICE, the more other people will tell us that’s unpopular, or unstrategic. that’s why they are saying that: because it is becoming popular, and it is strategic (if your goal is “end ICE violence,” not “protect some Democrats from taking a stand on ICE”)
