people mix them up all the time, but it's not difficult to understand the difference between lie and lay.

to lie is intransitive, as in "eat hot chip and lie"
to lay is transitive, as in "lays potato chips"

"stans" "superfans" some of us sure, but mostly we are transit cassandras, we see the future and no one believes til it's too late. love and train (look at my name) but at this point we are really just trying to trying to avoid pointless society economic disasters at this point.

lol an SF paper recently interviewed me for a piece on "transit enthusiasts" and i had to tell them i've lived in toronto for three years. the interview went on awkwardly, but they ultimately excluded me from the piece.

the piece kind of sucks, though, so i'm ok with having wasted their time

I just walked through an active drug bust and said excuse me to both the people getting arrested and the officers and they both looked at me so confused

the oldest city in nebraska lies on a grid of numbered streets, avenues, and… corsos. (corsi?)

what's more, the corsos are interrupted by a diagonal grid of numbered terraces and rues.

they expended all their creativity on this, so the city was named Nebraska City.

this continues to be a local transit as well as a bike parking issue. samtrans has not properly adapted its services to electrification and important stations like the rebuilt hillsdale aren't served by busses that continue to serve the area near the old station, a 15 minute walk away
Full bike capacity: Train 510 southbound reported full bike car capacity departing S. San Francisco

They're not. They exist to replace public transit with cars, and they block bike lanes every day, among many other erratic unsafe behaviors

I am on a crowded 7 train/day Capital Corridor headed to San Jose

Even though it is a slow diesel train on shared freight tracks, it is the fastest trip between Oakland and San Jose!

It is faster than BART, Caltrain, or even driving, and that's before electrification!
