Even winning this year’s Halloween costume prize couldn’t ease Carol’s existential ennui. “Another October, another ghost, another shiny prize. Maybe a pig’s ear would cheer me. Ah nuts, who am I kidding.”

What sweet doggos!

The comments are the best treat ever!
These dogs were spotted taking a group photo in their Halloween costumes. We're impressed by the dog walker's dedication to getting the shot, but that ghost definitely wishes he could actually disappear. 14/10 for all (TT: franklinbarkzoo)

Guillermo del Toro on wealth: "a wealthy man is a man who has enough, not a man that needs more. If you have enough to invite someone for a beer? You're rich. If you have a yacht, planes, islands, and you still need more? You're not rich."

If everything seems awful, this is an uplifting thread of things that are getting better.

Thank you, Molly Knight, for the pick-me-up! 😊 I truly needed it!
Please give me an unironic list of things that have gotten better over the last ten years because I’m spiraling.

I’ll start: you can buy an enormous TV from Costco for like $100 bucks now.

NASA is more than rockets and moonwalks. NASA is behind much of our everyday technology. From space discovery, to Air Jordans, to CAT scans, NASA has played a role. We get it all on less than a penny of every federal dollar. Now their science may be gutted by 50%.

This is why public transit is so important.

Recently went to Anaheim and their transit system (rideart.org) was amazing! Quick pick ups and friendly, knowledgeable drivers safely driving from John Wayne Airport to Disneyland and all of the hotels in the surrounding area.
US District Judge Charles Breyer, who is overseeing more than 2,300 lawsuits seeking to hold Uber liable to passengers who were sexually assaulted or harassed by drivers, dismissed some key claims in the nationwide litigation reut.rs/44CvRgp
