Minecraft’s enchanting system has always been a mix of grinding for XP, rerolling villager trading, and stacking enchantments to get "God Gear". Much of it is antithetical to Minecraft’s goals as a creative sandbox - so @astrazoey.bsky.social decided to overhaul it completely.

Am I the only one who still really likes skeleton horse traps and believes they're mostly fine as is?

(You know, other than the inconsistencies between them and undead mounts in 1.21.11, and weird bugs, but those aren't that big of a deal.) #Minecraft #MountsOfMayhem

Recently, they made charged attacks harder to land, which is fine by me because Minecraft spears are still the best weapon for flying combat. If the charge attack is already designed for late game, I REALLY don't think it'd hurt to increase the jab's damage since it's not the high damaging move.

Mojang will add the most epic subterranean biomes and overhaul every aspect of the Overworld's terrain, never speaking a single word of it, then designate their entire propaganda department to spreading the divine word of glow squid and alive bush for the 5th time this week...

Yes, I think the overworld is in a very good place right now. The underground could use 3-10 more biomes, depending on how varied we want it to be. 3 (technically 4 if we count "none") is far too few.

How should low temperature regions in the Overworld be improved? This can include new biomes, overhauling existing biomes on the colder side (like taigas or windswept hills), structures, etc. #Minecraft

Overall, vertical biomes in Minecraft tend to be largely advantaged compared to horizontal biomes due to their increased depth and greater detail.

Which cave or Nether biome is your favorite, and what other vertical biomes would you like to see in the future (including the End dimension)?

Yes, it's about time for Twitter to accept the combat experiments revolution! We need at least a few QoL features from those versions, like attacking mobs through non-solid blocks like tall grass, loyalty tridents surviving the void, and axes taking 1 durability from attacking. #Minecraft

Sheep variant definition. I can understand if Mojang didn't have the time to pivot and design Sheep variants, but I wish they at least added the variant definition for them so that creators could add them themselves with data packs.

What are your nitpicks about any of the Minecraft drop releases this year, including the most recent one?
November 5, 2025 at 7:38 PM
Some people are really complaining that the coral nautilus is a retexture of a retexture, meanwhile I'm just waiting for all Minecraft weapons to be able to attack through tall grass (and other non-solid blocks) instead of just spears, like in the combat test snapshots.

What are your theories about the sniffer, or Minecraft's lore in general?
November 5, 2025 at 3:01 AM
So, it looks like the Mounts of Mayhem drop is feature complete. Most of the drops this year seem to be medium sized, more or less. None were significantly large or small this time.

What are your thoughts on this drop, and what would you like to see added or changed for Minecraft in the future?

I wonder when we'll get a new structure in a drop release, even small ones similar to desert wells? #Minecraft

Fun stuff in this week's snapshot!
Get out your netherite upgrade templates because we finally have netherite horse armor!
Also, a brand new biome specific variant of the zombie nautilus has arrived only found in warm oceans!
What do you all think?

Come to think of it, I wonder if they'll finally add hoglin dancing to emphasize the "mayhem" part of this drop. #Minecraft #MountsOfMayhem

The new undead mounts make for some very fun variation in our selections of rideable mobs.
Are there any other mounts you'd like to see as undead variants?
If so, what would they be and how would they be found?

What are your hot takes on Minecraft weapons and similar items for combat?

Mine is that some enchantments are just not that good, and there's not much that can be done. Yes, that includes lunge. I think they should just leave it as is and improve the spear's base damage at this point.
November 1, 2025 at 5:17 PM
If they add hoglin jockeys in the Nether, you know actual threatening ones rather than cosmetic interactions, I'm going to suggest a Nether ominous event. I'm not sure if this drop has enough space for it at this point, but still. #Minecraft

What aspects of the spear would you tweak or change (aside from the lunge enchantment. In my opinion, it was always going to be much more niche than the spear itself)? #Minecraft #MountsOfMayhem

A whole flock of zombie piglins!!!

I call them a flock bc it feels like I'm walking through a gang of geese! One wrong move and I'm swarmed!!

Sure, they're mostly passive, but what happens when they're NOT makes them super intimidating

Like the Nether-Borg Collective or something, no thanks ✌
Which mobs in Minecraft can be surprisingly scary or intimidating when you encounter them in game?
